Department of the Missing in Action and Prisoners of War

This department has several branches of work at once: boys and girls who returned from captivity, the defenders who are still in captivity, families of the POWs, as well as the missing fighters and their relatives.

Employees share many responsibilities, including:

– work on recovery of documents and legal advice for the fighters after the exchanges;

– interviewing the fighters and gathering information about their comrades in arms who are still in the territory uncontrolled by Ukraine;

– communication with the fighters’ families and consultating them, including legal and procedural issues;

– cooperation with the structures in charge of the exchanges, information monitoring and search for the MIAs: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Security Service of Ukraine, National Information Bureau, Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, etc.;

– work on identification of the bodies of the fallen.

We work together to enable homecoming of all the defenders as soon as possible and provide them with a high quality recovery.
